3 Days Shy Of The KFC Free Ton

Friday, March 26th, 2004

Well it had to happen peeps. I’ve finally succumbed to the KFC monster. I lived, 97 days KFC FREE, until a small gathering last night with two friends from Chicago who are in Sydney to have their wedding. We had a few drinks and it was decided that some snacks were needed with our beers. With KFC only 2 doors down we decided to get some popcorn chicken and sauces to tide us over, but we ended up back at the junk food joint ordering more. I went down in a blaze of glory ordering the V8 Zinger Burger (that’s the one with the hot sauce). Anyways I’m back on the wagon and hopefully I can make it to the ton next time and not get out in the nervous 90s.

Been working at the brothers studio for 2 weeks as apprentice jack-of-all-trades, hence the lack of updates over the fortnight. Been helping a sparky mate fixing lights, feeding wire through conduits and securing with saddles; been playing with putty and stud adhesive, hammering noggins into staggered studs, drilling through masonry to fix dynabolts into the floor, sanding doorjams and trims, and a whole host of other stuff that you really just don’t wanna know about. It’s been fun but very tiring, even with the beers at the end of the day as an incentive but at least it’s all coming together now, and the place should be open soon so I can pull the Laney out of retirement, hook up the bass, crank the power to full and give this soundproofing a solid test.

With the bucks night this weekend, and wedding functions and socials all next week in the leadup to the wedding next Saturday, I won’t be around much and so I will see you when I return from all the debauchery in early April. Till then rock on!

Cougar XS Bourbon

Had the last 20’s bday I will ever have on the 3rd of the 3rd. Next year I’m expecting a rocking chair and a throw rug for my knees as a present hehehe. I didn’t have any luck with the bday scratchies, unlike xmas where I kept the run going till late Feb, but the 700ML bottle of Cougar XS bourbon (the XS stands for extra strength, its 43.0% alc/vol, thats 86.0% US proof to you yanks) really hit the spot! Yes its empty and yes I got shitfaced on it. For something thats approximately 24 standard drinks can you blame me? hehehe. I’ve been lazy with the updates, and I have a lot of photography off the camera but not uploaded which I will get to in time.

The geek has given a full account of our Melbourne-Eden-Bermagui trip as well as a nice update on where he’s headed at the moment. Whilst controversy continues to rage over at the Australian Chat Forums over how much of a loser the confirmed script-ripper known as Tanthalas really is. By the looks of the posts on there, he’s not liked. In fact fucken hated is probably a better way of putting it :) That many opinions can’t be wrong, and considering he has been the one and only person to defend his position of not being a loser, with absolutely no success, I’d say it’s time for him to wrap up the phone cord, unplug the modem, pack away the PC and bid farewell to the net. That’s my 2c worth, and given the response on the forums, the weight of the nation, nay the world, agrees with me. Ain’t that just dandy.

Takes me back to the days of the insightful Watchdog’s Corner, a brilliant early edition site by the current iServ webmaster, that told it exactly like it is. No punches pulled. Not enough of that these days. Too many people dodging bullets. Ahh I miss the old girl it was a chance to unleash the rage, in an informative way.

Been frequenting a few SEO forums of late, and it would seem that I’m missing a few things on here that I really should have. I’ve added a site map for my search engine spider friends, so that they can have fun finding all my pages. I’ve done a basic one for now but I have a lot more pages that should probably be added so I will cover them off in time (maybe).
